Q. What are our opening times?

Q. Can I hire event toilets?
A. Yes, our event toilets are kept completely separate from our other portable toilets that are using for construction and building work. Our event portable toilets come with an antibacterial dispenser rather than a sink, but call us to discuss your needs if you require something different. Contact us on 0800 999 2260 or email us at info@dtox.org
Q. Do I get a weekly service when I hire a standard toilet?
A. Yes is you are hiring a toilet for more than a week, a emptying and clean will be included in your hire. If you require additional cleaning we can do this too.
Q. Do I need different toilets for ladies and gents?
A. Both our male and female toilets are identical. Therefore, you do not need to hire different units for men and women. At your event, to reduce queue times, it does make sense designate separate male and female toilets. We can sign them up for you accordingly.
Q. How long can I hire a portable toilet for?
A. The simple answer here: as long as you need them, we'll hire them.
Q. Can I hire for just 1 day?

Q. Can I move the toilet once it's on-site?
A. Yes, indeed, you can. Many couples do just that, especially if you are having your celebrations outdoors or away from conventional toilet facilities.
Q. Can I hire portable toilets for my wedding?
A. Portable toilets are mobile by their nature, but they are hard to move manually. Please give us a call if you need one relocating, and we will arrange to move it for you.
Q. Where is the best place to put a toilet?
A. There are a few considerations here:
At an event, keep the toilets close to the people attending, don't make them walk miles
Leave them accessible for our service vehicles; we need to empty them regularly
If your event runs into the night, then position portable toilets under a light source. The roofs are translucent and will let in a lot of ambient light
Make sure they are on steady, level ground
Remember that grass gets very muddy in the rain with a lot of foot-fall. That is especially true at the front of the toilets
Q. Do the toilets have lights inside?
A. Not as a standard item, but we can add motion-activated LED lights for you as an additional item upon request.
Q. How much space do I need to make available?
A. Our units are 4 foot by 4 foot on the base and about 8 feet high. So you will need a space of about six feet square to enable people to open the door. We also need to be able to get the toilet into position so we will need an accessible area; we cannot lift over walls or get toilets down passages less than 5 feet wide.
Q. Can I connect a toilet to the mains?
A. With our standard portable toilets, you don't need to, but if you choose a mains connected portable toilet you can. See more details here.
Q. Do toilets need a power supply?
A. Standard toilets do not require power, but our hot wash toilets do.
Q. Will toilets freeze in cold weather?
A. Over the last 25-years, we have encountered some winters when toilets have frozen and therefore have become unusable. Outside temperatures need to drop several degrees below zero for this to occur.
Q. Are the toilets suitable for disposing of sanitary products?
A. If you treat a portable toilet like a standard toilet, you should be okay. Therefore don't flush anything that you would not flush at home and you will be fine.
Q. Do the toilets have locks?
A. Yes. All our portable toilet range can be locked from the inside to ensure your privacy.
Q. Can the toilet be used for storage on-site?
A. Please don't do that, as it can cause damage and makes the toilets more difficult for our service staff to clean.
Q. How much notice do I need to give D-tox when booking?
A. Some days we can respond to your needs the same day, but generally, we fulfil your requirements the next day.
Q. Do I need to be on-site when you deliver/collect the toilet?
A. To avoid confusion, we prefer your representative to be on-site to direct us where you want the unit sited. That way you can sign our delivery note at the same time.
Q. Are you a Registered Waste Carrier?
A. Yes. We are a registered Waste Broker so you can feel rest assured that you are dealing with a reputable company.
