Weekly Servicing - The Key To Portable Toilet Hire

When you think about portable toilets, which I am sure you do, regularly (lol), what do you think is the most important part?

Is it the flush tank, the sink, the pump, the seat?

Nope, none of these, the most important part of any portable toilet is the service that it gets every week.

It doesn’t matter what make or model of toilet you hire, truth be told they are all very similar and operate in the same way.

What does matter, is whether it is emptied, refilled and cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis.

Regular Servicing Is The Key

A regular service will mean the toilet is fresh and sanitary all week for your usage.

A missed service will lead to the waste in the tank becoming too much for the chemical in the waste tank to handle and this will create bad smells and an unhygienic interior for the toilet unit.

It will also mean the interior of the toilet unit becomes dirtier than it would normally.

If this happens regularly then your experience of hiring a portable toilet will be a negative one and at D-tox that is the last thing we want to happen.

After nearly 30 years in the portable toilet hire business we understand the importance of turning up week after week to empty toilet units, and we do so for well over 1000 toilets in the UK every week.

Is There Suitable Access To Your Portable Toilet?

But although we guarantee our weekly service it can only take place if our customers leave the toilets accessible. We do have occasions when we cannot complete a service but this is usually because we cannot get close enough to the toilet to empty the waste.

So if you want to take advantage of our Weekly Service Guarantee make sure you leave your toilet in an easily accessible place and don’t park cars in front of it or put skips in the way.

We don’t need to get right next to the unit as our vehicles carry about 20 metres of hose but if we can’t get within 20 metres or your site is locked completely we won’t be able to complete your weekly service.

So our guarantee actually means we will guarantee to turn up every week and “attempt” to service your toilet and as long as you leave us access we will be fine.

On the occasions that we cannot get access, our drivers will take notes and pictures to include on the Job Card that you will receive by e-mail, so you know we attempted to service your toilet and why we could not.

Calculate How Many Toilets You Need

It is also a good idea to make sure you have enough toilets to cater for the people that are using them, one toilet unit is only designed for use by no more than 7 people who are working no more than a 40 hour week.

If your toilet is overused then even regular servicing may not be enough to keep it from becoming unsanitary, so make sure you order the correct amount of units for your requirements. If you're not sure how many portable toilets to hire, check out our toilet calculator.

If needed, we can also carry out additional servicing on your toilets, just ask us about it and we can schedule this in.

If you are unsure how many to order you can always ask our experienced Hire team, they will be happy to advise.
