We mentioned back in May that we were helping out the organisers of Nedfest in Tamworth as part of our charity events policy.
The friends and family of James "Ned" Edwards had decided to put on the Nedfest festival to celebrate his untimely passing and raise money for local charity.
With a combination of races, bands, food and bars the festival clearly needed a bit of help on the sanitation front. D-tox was pleased to provide a number of portable loos to keep things clean.
We were even more delighted to receive a really nice letter of thanks from James Rawson, the festival Production Director. It really made our day.
"Planning a festival for the first time is a big job and comes with a lot of uncertainties. It was with help and support from D-tox and other small business' that we managed to make the Nedfest the huge success it was."
On hearing about D-tox's charity event policy we were excited at the prospect of getting free toilets for our event. Although we were right on the threshold of their 15 mile radius, Leanne did not disappoint and agreed to help us out with six portaloos for our small family festival. From the first contact Leanne was friendly, helpful and responded quickly to our queries. With the festival soon selling out, we decided to add another two loos as our numbers were up to our maximum of 500 guests, again this was no problem, even at short notice. Fast forward a month and the toilets were delivered promptly and put in position in time for us to start the set up.
Our event was a little different to most, combining Ned's love of triathlons and music to create "Nedathon"; featuring a 1000 metre swim, 40 mile sportive bike ride and 4 mile obstacle course run (with surprises along the way!). As well as "Nedfest" music festival, featuring many local bands, solo acts and DJ's from rock to folk, reggae to hip-hop. Guests were treated to a wide selection of food and drink from stone baked pizza's, Barbeque'd burgers and hot dogs, Ice cream as well as drinks from the bar and dedicated cocktail bar.
The event was a great success all round and raised lots of money for our chosen charities. We've received lots of really positive reviews about both aspects of the event there's even a lot of questions about there possibly being another Nedfest......who knows!?
Thank you to everyone that came to Nedfest, it was an amazing day for everyone involved! We can't thank everyone involved enough, all the sponsors, volunteers, Nedathonners, Bands, DJs, food & drink stalls and especially all those that came and partied Ned-style!
If you are organising a charity event (that's within 15 miles of our Aldridge base) and you need portable toilets for visitors and staff then get in contact today. We will do our best to help.
