Birmingham Children's Hospital is renowned around the Midlands and beyond for its life-saving work. For Summer Barker and her family the admiration is personal.
Soon after Summer was born. in 2008, she was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called dextrocardia, which basically means her heart and other major organs are on the opposite side to normal. That meant open heart surgery, a complex and difficult operation for one so young. Fortunately, thanks to the skill and dedication of the staff at the Children's Hospital, Summer came through the procedure.
Ever since then the Barker family have shown their gratitude by raising thousands of pounds for the hospital with wide variety of fundraising events. One of their big money raisers is their annual Family Fun Day at Elford Cricket Club, near Tamworth. This year the fun day took place on May 27th and featured loads of entertainment and activities such as; outdoor bowling, kids arts and crafts, slime making, a bouncy castle and of course a charity cricket match.
With the fun day being so popular it was inevitable that the cricket clubs facilities would be a little stretched. Luckily, word has got around about D-tox's FREE charity portable toilet hire offer to local charity events. We were able to support the fun day with 3 sparkling clean event toilets that helped keep the queues down and make the sure the day was just that bit more comfortable for everybody who attended.
If your charity is organising an event within 15 miles of our yard in Aldridge (near Walsall) then talk to D-tox about free toilet hire today.
